Did the Remicade help?

Tagged As: Colitis Remicade

Question:
My knees and legs are very bad and I am on a waiting list for Eberil. Well in the meantime they are supposed to give me Remicade infusions. I have psoriasis and also Ulcerative colitis. Is there anyone on this list with this condition and in my situation? Did the Remicade help? Or is the Eberil better? I am going to have to have my two knees replaced also as they are a mess.

Answer:
Only Remicade is approved for both the treatment of RA and Crohns disease.   Now I know RA is not psoriatic arthritis, but it works for that as well. Remicade was originally developed for Crohns disease which is similar to ulcerative colitis.  I would stick with Remicade if it works well for you because I believe it will do more for you colitis.  I have been on both drugs and both are excellent, but for me, Remicade works better. It would be nice if you could get both the colitis and PA with one drug.  My family has a history of colitis and when I mentioned that to my Rheumatologist he said it was unlikely that I would ever get it because I am on Remicade.  Anyhow my advice would be if the Remicade works stick with it With your colitis, Remicade sounds best for you; you'll soon see for yourself.
