pseudomembraneous colitis/Surgery

Tagged As: Pseudomembraneous Colitis

Question:
I have been sick ever since I was dx w/pseudomembraneous colitis (C-Diff). Why? I have no idea and neither does my GI. He doesn't even know if its Colitis or Crohn’s anymore. I can’t tell if you’re trying to be rude but these are the facts.

Answer:
My problems began with antibiotics also, given, in retrospect, for no good reason. I contracted some bug in Jamaica first. I was told it was stress and sent home after 2 days in the hospital, got a call saying...whoops...c-diff and PMC. That was supposedly fixed. Then pains in my abdomen landed me back in and my appendix came out, slightly infected. Since then I've been told I had NO colitis, Crohn’s, or UC (but DO have Diverticulosis) just after my second colonoscopy. CT scans show nothing. Something sure is wrong, over one year later. Pains and illness EVERYWHERE, non stop, every day, all through my thorax and especially on my right side. I'm 40 and noticeably limp! Now I was just told I had a Renal Cyst (Kidney) but that was no problem…Hmmm. That line sure sounds familiar. It does suck. Doctors have been NO help at all. Of all the things I do, real string ginger tea helps the most. I've never been to a doctor in my life, except for a broken bone or so until last year. Now, in one year, I've seen too many, no help. One poor guy just died on me. Another quit his practice! All my records keep getting lost. Medical limbo! There's humor in here somewhere, or at least I'm trying to find it. Hope you're feeling better soon... my insides are turning and growling again.
