Treatment for Crohn's?

Tagged As: Treatment For

Question:
Anyone here take Prednisone for relief, and Salofalk or re-emmision? I'm new to Crohn's, but was curious if many people were on the same medication as I was.

Answer:
What is Salofalk? I don't believe its available in the US? Salofalk is a drug used for treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and is pretty much the same as asacol. It is known as Mesalamine and used in the treatment or prevention of relapse of the Inflammatory bowel. I live in Canada, and I doubt that you wouldn't have this in the U.S, but if you say so.... How is the asacol working? Does it maintain your symptoms to a relatively low level when used with Prednisone? I tried this medication, but it did not help! Salofalk  is only available in Canada I guess, they have Pentasa or something like that in the States.  It's just a different brand name, like Rowasa enemas are the same as Salofalk enemas. Amazing what you pick up on here! But you guys do have Asacol in the states right? It acts in the same way!
