I have been suffering from the condition for the past 10 years or so and after looking absolutely EVERYWHERE for a cure (including naturopaths, herbal/alternate medicine's and even conventional medication) I stumbled upon a cure by accident. I started getting lower back pain and after suffering with colitis and this back pain, I decided to go to my local chiropractor. After our initial consultation he told me that my colitis was due to my back. I didn't believe him for a second and thought to myself this guy is crazy - what does he know about colitis and bowel disorders. He's a chiro and I tendered his services for back pain. But after a few weeks of treatment, I was - to my AMAZEMENT - feeling better and better completely drug-free! I thought that it was coincidental and just a brief remission, but now more than 7 months later I feel great and haven't had a bout of colitis for months. Just to make sure that it wasn't just by chance, I had 3 close friends of mine all presenting the same disease and referred them 1-by-1 to the chiro and believe it or not they are all cured. I am seeking no financial gain from this and I just want to give some friendly advice to everyone seeking a drug free alternative to colitis. It may not work for you, but it worked for me.

Then you were misdiagnosed to begin with.  back aches or back problems can cause gi symtoms, but you don't cure a disease such as uc or cd with back adjustments.  the only cure for uc is removal of the colon. I have been to the chiro for other problems in the past and often have a flare up of my UC after being realigned.  My chiro says realignment and chiro treatment is known to exacerbate or cause flare ups.  This is my experience, and I have complete faith in my chiropractic doc. I think you will find people cured of uc with this method very few and far between. and even then, if they claim it so, it is probably a result of something else like a mis-dx.  listen, there is no known cure for uc, that's it, complete, finished, scientific fact, period.
