I've been diagnosed with chronic cluster headache,Are my concerns with Lithium warranted?

Question:
I've been diagnosed (after 6+ doctors) with chronic cluster headache (every ~3 hours for 40 minutes since April). My question has to do with my medications: Verapamil 240mg 2x/day Lithium 300mg 3x/day The verapamil was helping a little and the lithium seems to be helping a lot. I know these are commonly used medicines for my ailment, but I have read on various drug websites that the combination together should require very careful monitoring of my lithium serum level (I think)... My doctor added the lithium 'over the phone' with no mention of watching for lithium toxicity. I'm 42. Are my concerns warranted? thanks.

Lithium can build to toxic levels and certainly during my psychiatric placement, where they also use lithium, levels were monitered by blood tests Trev.M , but I have read on various drug websites that the combination
