Chronic Tension Headache helps?

Tagged As: Chronic Tension Headache

Question:
I've had a Chronic Tension Headache everyday for over a year and a half now. I'm a 34 year old female. During late 2001, I had experienced a lot of stress at work and home and on December 7, 2001, I woke up with a headache that has never totally gone away. I had never had a headache before late 2001 and was completely healthy. Does anyone know anybody who has completely recovered from having a Chronic Tension Headache, as I'm afraid that I'll be living with this pain for the rest of my life. I don't have stress in my life anymore, but I'm still unable to get rid of the constant daily dull ache in my head.

Answer:
Have you tried massage therapy to relieve some of the cramping in your neck? Maybe you could get some muscle relaxer injections into the muscle to ease the spasming. My hubby has chronic tension headaches ever since he was in first grade, and they trigger migraines all the time. He's in the process of finding a doctor to give him trigger point injections into this huge cramp he has in his neck. I also massage his cramp in his neck by using my elbow and my weight to rub out the cramp. It does help him some, and it gets rid of some migraines that were starting, but I haven't gotten rid of the cramp, not even close. I'll post an update to whether or not the injections help him when he finally tries it. Good luck to you,
