I have been taking imitrex for 4 years and am wondering if there will be a time when it will not stop the pain. Some of you say your medications do not work anymore. Has anyone had that experience with Imitrex. I had 25 years of pain, but with this drug I get total relief. I hope all of you can find total relief soon.

Maybe. Maybe not. Imitrex did eventually stop working for me, but that doesn't mean it will happen to you. Meanwhile I was able to replace imitrex with maxalt which ended up being more reliably effective than imitrex ever was anyways, and worked faster (at least than oral imitrex anyways). Currently there are three other tritpans available with two others to hit the market soon, so if imitrex does stop working for you, there is a good chance you will be able to replace it with another medication. I do understand your panic though. I remember all too well all those years of suffering before the days of imitrex and friends.
