Question:
Just fond out I am Pregnant and wondering if any Meds..besides Tylenol can be taken safely. I am especially wondering about Fioracet and Cafregot or midrin?
Answer:
Everyone is different is a well worn phrase for migraine sufferers, but so to is women's migraines during pregnancy. Mine changed in the way they developed during pregnancy, and after. Its hard to anticipate what to do - I relied on tylenol for the most part - I avoided triggers as best I could because I know I was walking without a net. During late pregnancy (for each of my three pregnancies) I had a very bad one (you know - so sick I would vomit after swallowing my own saliva). My husband got advice from our Doc that I was allowed to take gravol (usually given for car sickness) suppositories, so that I could stop gagging and get back to rest. It worked like a charm. But do not take this without permission of your physician. Nothing else was I allowed to take, sad to say. Congradulations, take care and get LOTS OF REST!!!! (My doctor made me take my leave early so that I could avoid migraines - less stress and more rest did prove helpful)
