Question:
Dark circle under RIGHT eye = Problem with right kidney, or just allergy? For a few years people have been commenting on how tired I look (I'm 29), yet I get the right amount of sleep and am not tired. This is down to the dark rings under my eyes, predominantly my RIGHT EYE. Recently my left eye is almost perfect, but my right eye still has a red 'racoon' effect underneath - in the place people commonly get this. I also have bloodshot eye whites. The area around my nostrils has also always been red. Coincidentally, and without herself noticing my right eye was worse, my reflexologist said she felt concerned about my RIGHT kidney only, and my bladder. This is when I clicked - right eye, right kidney, dark circles under eyes can be kidney related... '!' Apparently my RIGHT FOOT showed signs of a problem and had lots of crunchiness and tenderness, whilst my left was fine. Are you drinking enough water? was her question. I try to drink 8 glasses a day and recently did a detox. I exercise, eat healthily, don't drink or smoke, no red meat. I should be the picture of health, yet people are always telling me how ill I look. I do also suffer from allergies, so as an alternative could the right eye thing be a symptom of a sensitivity in my right sinus passage? If so then the reflexology thing could just be coincidence. I had also consciously noticed, before knowing it was a symptom of kidney problems, VERY slightly puffiness above my cheekbones. I didn't know what it could be but knew it was new. I have also had poor circulation (cold hands and feet) almost all my adult life. (This is helped by breathing techniques, i.e. if I perform deep abdominal breathing for 3 minutes my extremities warm up, so again this may not be kidney related - but it does happen to be another symptom of kidney problems.) I also have night-time urination if I have a drink before bed. I'm fairly sure I never used to get that, but I can't be sure. Maybe it's normal??? Feels like I'm 7 again! :$ My doctor prescribed me beta blockers for HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (I'm 29!!) which he feels is psychological, but again I know this can be linked to kidney problems. I do have psychological reasons (nothing major) that could explain this though... I overproduce adrenalin so this could cause the blood pressure, and I believe the adrenalin is caused by anxiety, for which I have so far had 2 months' therapy. It's very interesting, but no physiological change yet. Left eye looks better, but surely that can't be psychological. :-S I've not had my kidneys tested, but I did have a normal blood test which came back fine (as did liver and thyroid tests). Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Sadly my doctor isn't too helpful and won't send me to see an allergist or give me a kidney test. He's made up his mind that it's all in my mind. (And my eye evidently.)

Dark circle under RIGHT eye = Problem with right kidney, or just allergy? Sinusitis in the right half of the face? Constantly sleeping on right side of face? I do also suffer from allergies, so as an alternative could the right eye thing be a symptom of a sensitivity in my right sinus passage? If so then the reflexology thing could just be coincidence. Yup. I had also consciously noticed, before knowing it was a symptom of kidney problems, VERY slightly puffiness above my cheekbones. I didn't know what it could be but knew it was new. Sinus prpblems can produce puffiness. I have also had poor circulation (cold hands and feet) almost all my adult life. (This is helped by breathing techniques, i.e. if I perform deep abdominal breathing for 3 minutes my extremities warm up Relaxation? Oxygenation? Teach yourself to breathe all the time using your diaphragm muscles, not your upper chest muscles. This is easily done by putting a belt snugly around your ribs at the level of the sternum for a while. , so again this may not be kidney related - but it does happen to be another symptom of kidney problems. Reflexology has a laundry list of symptoms of kidney problems, none of which are diagnostic of much. I also have night-time urination if I have a drink before bed. I'm fairly sure I never used to get that, but I can't be sure. Maybe it's normal??? Drinking what, and how much? My doctor prescribed me beta blockers for HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (I'm 29!!) which he feels is psychological, but again I know this can be linked to kidney problems. Try the abdominal breathing thing ... I vaguely remember that it was useful in lowering blood pressure. I've not had my kidneys tested, but I did have a normal blood test which came back fine (as did liver and thyroid tests). Several of the blood tests would be abnormal if you had an significant kidney problems. and if you also had a urinalysis, it can detect some problems. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Sadly my doctor isn't too helpful and won't send me to see an allergist or give me a kidney test. What kind of kidney test do you think will show anything?
