Question:
I came across a website about a clinic in Canada that specializes in this cervicogenic headaches. It sounds like something that my husbands has. He has been in three car accidents in the last five years and gets really bad headaches. We know that his C1 and C2 vertebrae are messed up and each of the six neurologists that we've seen say that there is nothing they can do. We've been to countless other doctors and have had MRI's, CT Scans, etc. done. He is on Stadol NS, DHE NS, Nortriplyene, Ultram, Accupril and Promethazine (to take w/Stadol), Golden Seal (herbal) and Ibuprofen. I am still trying to be optimistic that we will find a cure for this! He seems to get headaches when a cold (low) front moves through. He's better than the weatherman on TV! We live in Arkansas and the weather changes constantly. They do seem to be a little better in the summertime. Can anyone give me some more information?
Answer:
Has your husband ever been offered nerve blocks or cervical epidurals? Cervical fusion surgery should always be a last resort, because the failure rate is high, as well as complications from the surgery. I wish your husband luck!
