Have any cluster headache sufferers managed to get hold of Oxygen?

Tagged As: Oxygen For Cluster Headache

Question:
My GP doesn't want to prescribe Oxygen. I've tried both gentle persuasion and downright stubborness, including a recomendation from a specialist who acknowledges it's effective. I've recetly gotten him to prescribe sumatriptan injections (Glaxo Wellcome Imigran Subject) and these really work: First thing in 27years of suffering that does! However, I dont like taking drugs in general and injecting myself with anything is not something I like to do, so I want to give the Oxygen a try... Have any cluster headache sufferers in the UK managed to get hold of Oxygen? If so, how did you do it? (What do you do: approach a friendly scuba diving welder or what?)

Answer:
Well this one hasn't. I've found that all my GPs seem capable of doing is working their way through various triptans and if they don't work they say, There's nothing we can do. I've really had to nag to be able to get a hospital referral.
