Question:
I am a 25 year old male and have what i believe to be migraines. About 4 months ago I started getting this flashing type light in my both of my eyes, I completely freaked out! I never had anything like ever happen to me before. It went away after about 5-10 minutes and i forgot about it. until about 2 weeks later when it happened again, this time followed by a one sided headache (which lasted for about 3 hours). Are these migraines?? my grandmother, mom, and aunt have all suffered migraines, so i may have a genetic predisposition. my headaches never include nausea though? what would this mean? any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Answer:
It quacks like a migraine. The diagnostic criteria don't require nausea .. especially if you have aura (the flashing lights). You need to see a doc, though, for a complete workup & diagnosis. Not to mention you won't get anything to treat your headaches without seeing a medical person for scripts.
