Is it the act of crying, the tears that causes the headache or perhaps is it the stress behind the tears that cause it??

Question:
Is it the act of crying, the tears that causes the headache or perhaps is it the stress behind the tears that cause it?? I'm stumped on that one. I usually get the stress type headache AFTER the stress has subsided, but if I cry I'm doomed. If I don't have a headache I'll get one and if I have even a little tiny headache then it ends up a big whopping migraine. I know this is sort of a chicken and the egg kind of question, but I've often wondered why that happens. Anyone got a clue?

Answer:
Although if I tear up at a sad movie it doesn't start a migraine, but if I cry from real sadness about something real in my own life, I do. So I think, for me, it's the stress behind the tears that causes the headache, rather than just the tears. Everyone thinks I'm so brave, and happy, and stable, because they never see me cry. What a crock.
