Question:
I have a form of migraine called cluster headaches, which I get for over a month every summer - I don't know of anyone else who gets them, but they are *so* agonising I can't put it into words. This year I have started to get anxiety attacks as well, and my dizziness and grogginess doesn't seem to ever go away, and although I try and be strong throughout my daily attacks, the fact that I have no *down time* is really breaking me up, giving me even more anxiety. Even when I am not in pain my head is dizzy, groggy and feels like lead and I'm living like a zombie The doctors here in the UK seem useless when it comes to this sort of problem, I have tried lots of drugs, from heavy dose pain relief to triptans, but nothing seems to help, and with the anxiety too its not nice. I am really desperate to know if anyone out there has been through the same experience or got *any* advice for me to try - I would always be in the debt of anyone who might be able to help me through this.
Answer:
The usual recommended remedies, which you may have tried along with the other medicines, are oxygen by mask at 6-8 l/min and/or intra nasal lidocaine spray. The triptans and other anti-migraine drugs are a second line, but I gather you have been pretty well through those. Check old posts here, I think there may have been one from somone who had some success within the last two months.
