Question:
I have been taking Elavil for almost 10 years to prevent my migraine cluster headaches. Not sure what they are, cluster, migraine or both. Since I am male and they started at about 24 years of age and are very severe I heard they are likely cluster headaches. Anyway, the Elavil taken every night does seem to work it just has the drossiness side effect. Has anyone else out there successfully used Elavil to stop the headaches? If you have used Elavil have you found any other drugs that work as well as Elavil? I am just looking for alternatives to Elavil.
Answer:
Elavil is an antidepressant, anti-anxiety drug. A lot of migraines respond to psychiatric drugs, exposing the farce of migraine as a neurological brain disfunction. Migraine is a stress related anxiety disorder. As far as your Elavil use goes; if it works, don't change anything.
