Are there any migraine sufferers, or medics out there who have experience of prolonged episodes of migraine aura?

Question:
Are there any migraine sufferers, or medics out there who have experience of prolonged episodes of migraine aura? Six years ago following a normal CT scan I was diagnosed as having atypical migraine in the form of attacks of visual aura lasting many weeks followed by many weeks of severe headache. Symptoms may last for minutes or hours each day. I have since managed months of being symptom free only to find a recurrance of daily visual aura symptoms, and now also tingling in various parts of the body. The visual symptoms are typically present on waking and on retiring at night. I am now into the eighth week of symptoms. My GP has not seen this pattern before, and I have yet to hear of anyone else with such symptoms. Propanolol and sanomigran have failed to make any difference in the past. I am finding the symptoms very distressing, and frightening especially as the pattern is so unusual and persistent. I would be extremely grateful for anyone's comments.

Answer:
My mom gets this. I mentioned it to my neuro and he said she should talk to her doctor as he gets good results with frequent or prolonged aura with daily aspirin therapy. Are you menopausal by any chance? My doc seems to see this a lot in perimenopausal women.
