Can it be a migraine type of visual effect?

Tagged As: Occular Migraine

Question:
I have a question about something I experienced yesterday morning. I woke up with sinus headache type pain over the eyes, and at the bridge of the nose. I was working at the computer, and I started to see a little greysish dot type shadow on my computer screen, which reminded me of the visual effect that we sometime have after looking at a sunny sky. In matter of minutes it became a large crescent shaped white cloudy blotch (about 2 inches), that invaded the entire part of the left corner of my vision. It was pulsating/slightly flashing, and it was very annoying, as it messed with my vision. I took 2 Tylenol Strong, and about 10 minutes later the blotch started to leave, exiting by the left corner (if that makes any sense....). I am in the middle of another sinus infection (I get about 4 during the winter), but this floater thing really got me scared. I guess what I want to know is, can it be related to a sinus infection? Can it be a migraine type of visual effect? Is this something I should worry about? I have no history of migraines, but have some small floaters that come and go.
