Are other people with Crohn's disease having the same pain as I am?

Question:
Are other people with Crohn's disease having the same pain as I am? I sometimes think that I am being a baby and are not tough enough to fight this pain. I have recently been put on oxycontin 3 x days for chronic pain. I sometimes feel guilty that maybe I should be fighting this better. Any suggestions????

Answer:
Don't worry; you’re not the only one who has chronic pain because of Crohns. I have had Crohns for ten years and had 3 operations to resect infected bowel and access’s (pain was real bad) Now I am a chronic sinus problem which has three ENT's stumped and gp and Gastro also stumped what to do. I have two theories; one my immune system is stuffed because of Crohns and muran drug (I have a real low reading on two of my imnogloben levels) Due to see a professor of immunology next week to try and find out why. Or my other theory is because of all the pain medication required in 1995 due to lots of surgery, I have built up a real resistance to normal pain medication. Anyway, don't feel guilty if you need help with pain, If anyone who has Crohns has ever had Gall stones play up, they know about pain.  Gall stones can occur if you have had bowel removed and bowel bile builds up and cannot pass.
