Diet and Health FAQ

Are nuts allowed foods on the atkin induction period?

Tagged As:

Question:
I was just wondering if nuts are allowed foods on the atkins induction period. I have ordered the book to try it, and am wanting to try and get started the best I can while waiting for it to come (it is supposed to arrive within a couple of days). I got a little bit of a food list online to start off, but didn't see nuts listed. If they are, are there any limits or types not allowed?

Answer:

Nuts are not allowed foods during the first two weeks of induction on atkins diet.

I would like to understand why nuts are not allowed during the induction period. They are low on carbohydrates.
