My sister found a diet where you can lose 11-18 lbs in the first week. And you get to stuff yourself! You make a cabbage soup thing and eat only certain things. Anyone ever heard of it? Any success stories? I'm 15, and a vegetarian, and my parents are worried I won't get all the vitimans and things I need, especially if I continue doing this diet. Can anyone back this up? Does the cabbage soup diet work?

You must be talking about the Sacred Heart diet (also referred to as the Cabbage Soup Diet). I followed it for 4 weeks and lost 10 pounds. You can't follow it if you are vegetarian--Day 4 is Skim Milk and Bananas and Cabbage Soup all day; Day 5 and 6 is meat and cabbage soup all day (tomotoes on day 5 in addition; green leafy vegs on day 6 in addition). Get the book THE ZONE if you want a great diet book--nothing I've read compares in learning more about the body and food than from this book. Dr. Sears says if you loose more than 1.5 pounds a week, that part of that loss has to be fluid or muscle loss--for you can only loose, genetically speaking, a maximum of 1.5 pounds of fat a week. I'm continuing to eat the Cabbage Soup on the Zone diet but every meal is supplemented with enough protein to get the balance that Dr. Sears recommends
