Is anyone getting Humira for Crohn's???
Answer:
I got my first injection on Friday. Started with 80mg (two injections) for the first dose, then 40mg (one injection) every two weeks thereafter. I built up antibodies to remicade, and am suffering a big battle with pyoderma gangrenosum (crohn's on the skin, primarily). After two days, I already see an improvement. No reactions (not even injection site) to the humira. So far, so good. I started with the 80mg kicker, followed by 40mg every other week. I just had it upped to 40mg weekly because I was starting to backslide towards the end of week 2. The first few I did in my abdomen. I did the last one in my thigh. It was a lot more painful. I’m trying to find different ways to make it burn less, too (letting it sit out for a few before injecting, injecting slow v. fast).
