Tagged As: New Treatment For Crohn’s Disease
Question:
I have had crohn's since I was 16 and now being 30 was wondering about any new treatments for this. Does anyone know what's new if anything? I have heard of Rifabutin, Clarithromycin (Biaxin) and Clofazimine. Has anyone else and if so, what kind of results have you had?
Answer:
Maybe they mean this. Antegren could ease the suffering of thousands afflicted with the painful condition after trials in the U.S. showed half of test patients were back to health after just one year of taking the drug. Dr Miles Parkes, of the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's disease. More than half of patients stayed well at the end of a year and it was well tolerated, with no significant side effects.' The drug works by blocking white cells moving into the gut where they trigger inflammation, he said. http://www.healthfinder.gov/news/newsstory.asp?docID=519056 and this Remicade (infliximab) is a genetically engineered antibody that blocks inflammation caused by a protei called tumor necrosis factor. http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/1999/599_crohn.html Those evil pharm companies are always finding new meds in which to make money. My wife, Ann, was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease for 15 years. She suffered greatly and her activities were severely limited by the disease. She could not go out for dinner, go shopping, visit her children's homes, or go to a movie or any other activity away from home for more than a few minutes. The disease progressed to a life threatening condition requiring hospitalization and surgery to remove the diseased portions of the lower intestine. Prednisone was prescribed, causing weight gain and mood alteration. Imodium was used in attempt to control the diarrhea. They only had minimal effect. We feared she would require more drastic surgery. When she became acquainted with Synergy Worldwide and learned of VitaPak, Body Guard, and Germanium Plus, she was desperate enough to try anything. She tried VitaPak, Body Guard, and Germanium Plus. After four days, her Crohn's was under control. It was not cured, but she had her life back. As a result, she became an independent distributor for Synergy Worldwide. Consequently, I became interested in autoimmune diseases. If you think VitPak, Body Guard, and Germanium Plus would be helpful to you, please see our websites: www.MySynergy.net/AnnJack and www.autoimmune.biz Dr. Bernhard Bihari has been using low dose naltrexone off label to treat various diseases, and has had good success against Crohn's. http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/ As of September 2002, Dr. Bihari was following eight patients with Crohn's Disease on LDN. In all eight cases, within 14-21 days the signs and symptoms of disease activity stopped. All eight had remained stable since anywhere from 2 months to 36 months. http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/ldn_and_ai.htm Breaking the Vicious Cycle: Intestinal Health Through Diet by Elaine Gloria Gottschall The drugs for Crohn’s by Dr. Bernhard Bihari are not as important as to recognize the cause of Crohn’s. It is a simple fact that a mind/body connection causes one person on a stimulant to give Crohn’s or UC to another. Strange as it sounds, this is the ONLY cause of Crohn’s, a manmade illness. No one realizes what is taking place. The harm being done whether the persons are in the same room or miles apart. Read the layman's theory of its cause on website http://scc.healingwell.com/info/gailfaq.htm It will continue to increase to the proportion of stimulants used, mainly anti-depressants being the biggest route to Crohn's. And George Bush wants to expand the drugs used for mental conditions that not many have, but are invented in his stupid estimation where everyone will be exposed to stimulants even more than at present. His brother Marvin lost his colon to Crohn’s, still the debate goes on, with no medical person willing to acknowledge the mysterious cause that edudes not only the researchers, but the pharmaceutical cos. so anxious to have everyone take an anti-depressant. Time to back off. Other drugs that will cause Crohn’s are Xanax, Buspar, Depakote, Flexeril, natural herbs that have natural stimulants, kava kava, st johns wort, etc. etc. etc. If you have a depression for no reason, a non-organic condition that does not follow the pattern of known illnesses and can't be easily diagnosed, think STIMULANTS AND CROHNS.
