Question:

Yesterday my Docror called with the new that the results of my Bood test were in and the news was not good. My Choleseral was high, very high, dangerously High. I have already started on medication for this and now she said to change my diet. But she never told me how to do that.Ok to be fair she did say no more fried foods. The websites I have found want me to sign up an leave my e-mail address, no thank you. I spend a considerable ammount of time as it is tying to get unsubscribed from these websites that send me junk mail. So if any one can help me PLEASE.
Answer:
Try at least 1 vegetarian meal day a week. Eat more baked/poached fish. Get used to oatmeal for breakfast. Decrease your meat portions and increase the vegetable portions of all your meals. Totally eliminate liver (for some not a bad thing). Eggs are ify some studies say no some say yes. No sauces or gravies, salad is your friend. The best thing is to reach a new style of eating that you can live with instead of a fast fix and then back to old lifestyles. Some backsliding is allowed say once a month or less. Works for me. Pasta with tomato/veggie sauces are a good thing, baked chicken, stir fries. The idea to to increase vegetable input and decrease meat input. Dessert is now fresh fruit. Yoghurt is good my favourite is key lime.
