I have endometriosis and IBS

Tagged As: Endometriosis And Ibs

Question:
I have had endometriosis (dx anyway) for 20 years and have had to have laser laproscopys done every five years or so to clear it all away; and since I've been sick with the Fibro & Lupus I stopped having cycles (except once or twice a year). Could the endometrial growths be all over my bowels and causing this severe IBS or whatever it is? My last surgery was in April ; and I guess it could have grown all over my large intestines.  It is all over my ovaries and outside of my uterus, or was every time I had surgery.  I also have polycystic ovarian disease.  Does any of this fit together?

Answer:
It does all fit together, I’m proof of that!! I had Stein Leventhal, also known as polycystic ovaries and Endometriosis and IBS. I had to have surgeries every couple of years to have the stuff removed, finally had a full hysterectomy last May along with a bowel resection, lots of scar tissue, still lots of scar tissue!! Now I'm wondering if it's just attacking the bowel and the other organs left down there.  I have the IBS really bad right now; don't know why it's so bad? Going to have to see the surgeon again, funny they called the other day and wanted me to set up an appt. wonder if he suspects something? Maybe and didn't want to tell me I might have some problems again after a year of healing? I'll let you know. Are you just going to continue to have the laser surgery done every few years? I did that 3 times and they finally said it's getting to bad and it was taking forever for such a simple surgery to heal, it is worth it to have it taken out, IMHO...
