Has anyone ever tried or known anyone who has tried the slim form diet patch?

Question:
Has anyone ever tried or known anyone who has tried the slim patch? I saw an infomercial for this product today and - of course - it promises great results. I am interested in hearing what kind of results people have had with using this product. It claims to use the same concept as the nicotine patches where the chemical is absorbed through the skin in a cream form 30 minutes before you eat. Any information is appreciated!! Ive tried Atkins, Slim fast, Low Fat, did phen/phen for 2 1/2 years - (thank god my heart and lungs are ok!) - you name it - I've done it - Thanks for the info.

Answer:
Perhaps someone here has tried it and can give first-hand experience, but I'm pretty sure the general consensus is that this is yet another weight-loss scam. I know these infomercials have a way of really convincing you after you hear the same thing for 30 minutes, and you end up thinking, Hey why not give it a try? But better judgement should tell us that something like a patch advertised on an infomercial cannot possibly work. The concept of the patch is not in question. My mom uses an estrogen patch these days. The question is, what is this chemical being absorbed? Is it a chemical that has been proven to work orally or otherwise as well? I can't imagine what it could be, unless it's something you can get over the counter which is minimally effective (other than ephedrine-based products) like caffeine or dexatrim. Maybe someone here can tell you differently, but I'd file it under yet another useless diet scam. BTW, not like I'm immune to infomercials' claims of weight-loss products. I recently bought that Aspen Wellness 7 day diet. Oh boy, what a waste of money. I figured, I know this has to just be some sort of fast to lose water weight. You can't possibly lose 15 pounds of fat in one week. I thought maybe some waterloss would do me good, and get me on the right track. Well the program is absolutely ridiculous. It's packaged soups which have zero flavor. You eat/drink 3 a day for a week. Each one is 200 calories. And you're also allowed one fruit a day, and plain veggies. The documentation says that the packaged foods add up to 600-700 calories a day, but when you add your fruit and vegetables you end up at a healthy 1100-1300 calories a day. HA! On what planet? By the end of the day I was nauseated and mildly delirious. I couldn't imagine doing it for 6 more days and I had a turkey sandwich. Two days later I got a treadmill and went on Phen and I'm minus 9 pounds in three weeks. And I don't feel like crap. Good luck! Annie :)
