A couple of years ago I was a regular here at ASD, if you could call someone who lurks a lot and hardly ever posts a 'regular'. Since then I haven't lost a whole lot of weight (about 10kg) but I have kept it off and am ready to have another go at getting rid of the rest. As I have moved to the UK from Australia I can no longer afford regular trips to the nutritionist so I am looking for diet/nutrition software which uses metric units, and has nutritional information for brands found in London (which I am still not too knowledgeable about, yet). Anyone have any ideas about uk weight loss diet product?

I'm in the UK too, and probably the best site I've found as far as having a very comprehensive database of UK foods is www.weightlossresources.co.uk The only drawback is that they charge you for subscribing. I used it for quite a while and found it very good, but I now use Fitday instead, which is free. When I started to use Fitday, I spent quite a while putting in all my most often used foods as customised foods, but once they're in it only takes a minute to enter your daily meals. We have a big advantage here in that all our nutritional information is expressed per 100g of product, so it's so easy to input the values like this and then express your own portions as a percentage of that. Incidentally, even if you don't want to use their software, Weight Loss Resources publish about the best book of calorie counts of all UK foods that I have seen. I have a copy, and refer to it occasionally when using a food that doesn't already come packaged with nutritional info, so I can put it into Fitday. I haven't used any of the entries in Fitday's own database as they're too American biased and not really relevant to the UK.
