Question:
I'm looking for a customized diet, that is based on free Zone diet principles and my own food likes/dislikes. Does anyone have any tips on finding someone online that can offer this kind of help? I'm willing to pay for it, just don't know where to start. I'm wondering if anyone else has had any luck with personalized diet assistance.
Answer:
Start by figuring out the protein / carb content of your likes and dislikes, as well as the approximate glycemic index. If the numbers don't look good, start looking for alternatives. For example, I ate a lot of rice, pasta, and occasional vegetables, mostly vegetarian dishes before I started following the Zone principles. The change I made was to eat a lot more fruit, a little more vegetables and reduce my consumption of pasta and rice to miniscule quantites. Since I've never cared to eat a lot of meat, I added soya products and wheat powder for protein.
