Question:
Has anyone experienced dramatic ow cholesterol weight loss, or not, on Dessicated Thyroid medication. If so, how long did it take for the results of the medication to kick in? Thanks.

Answer:
A few years ago my doctor was more concerned about my triglycerides than the fact I was so fatigued I could barely function. When I told her I was going on the Atkins diet to lower them, she put her head down on the table as if to let me know how stupid that was. Six weeks later, my triglycerides had gone from 450+ on medication to 112 without. It worked. The reason I had tried that was because after my doctor complained about my triglycerides I picked up an Atkins book that had a chapter on them, and he scared me as much as my doctor. But, unlike her, he had a solution. Anyways, a lot of the food science in this country is profit driven, has little to do with real science. The Atkins diet tends to lower cholesterol which is counter to what the medical profession said for years. I have low cholesterol, I would really like to increase it, but I have no idea how since eating cholesterol doesn't help at all. Atkins was right about much of what he said. It can work as an all you can eat diet, fat has vitamins and nutrients in it, I doubt it causes any harm at all except that done by allowing food to become an industry that uses hormones, antibiotics, and other unnatural processes. Plants haven't been quite as bad if you can remove the pesticide residue, but pretty soon those plants genetically engineered to hold more pesticide on them are going to start taking over and kill off the natural plants. So, plants or meat it is a gamble because American consumers haven't pushed hard enough for change yet. Most of our soybeans (which are poison naturally) are now genetically modified, other countries have fought this but the American consumer hasn't cared because they've been too busy.
