Question:
My Father has been living in my home for several years. He suffers with horrible chronic pain and now has been diagnosed with a heart complication, high blood pressure and cholesterol. He has been prescribed a low salt, low sugar, low fat diet, which he is fine with, but it's throwing me for a loop. I can handle the low fat and sugar, but I have never, ever, cooked without salt. How am I going to juggle low carb, low fat, low salt and still plan meals that are interesting and tasty? For the sake of his health, I want my Father to be successful, but I'm going to need some suggestions with the low salt thing. Any suggestions, ideas, recipes about low fat low salt diet ?
Answer:
Well low salt would be easy...just leave it out of his food and read any labels on what he eats. Low sugar? As a low carber you know what to do there. Low fat? Hmmm. That's a little tougher as I am used to leaving the fats in my diet now. Perhaps the low fat ng could help you there so you won't be serving your Dad cardboard for meals. Is there a such thing as a low fat/low carb WOE?
