Question:
Since I've heard many complaints about the USDA's Mediterranean diet food pyramid, anyone got any better ideas?
Answer:
The Mediterranean Food Diet Pyramid is an alternative. It allows for moderate alcohol and daily servings of good fats (olive oil) as part of a healthy diet. Even better, the bottom layer of the pyramid is Daily Physical Activity: http://www.oldwayspt.org/pyramids/med/p_med.html Of course, this model includes too little beef for the average American, but at the very lest the USDA should adopt the physical activity part of the pyramid.
