Diet and Health FAQ

After 3 day cardio diet,Why's my weight still increasing?

Tagged As: 3 day cardio diet

Question:
Yesterday i stepped on the scale after about two weeks of not looking. I have gone to a three day full body routine, and do cardio on the off days (i burn between 1000-1500 calories on the cardio days), and have been eating a ketogenic diet for the longest time, sticking to 50-60g carbs at the most (and that would be a day where i break down and have a bran muffin at work, which tilts the scales towards the higher end of 60g carbs). So what could be causing the 2lb gain in 3-4 weeks? Even yesterday after an hour and twenty minutes of running i only dropped about 1.5 lb from water, i will still heavier than a few weeks ago.

Answer:
I know how you feel here. I also started a new exercise/weight training program a bit ago and I also gained a few pounds. I went from walk/jogging to hill climbing/hiking and added 3 full body workouts to my routine. Staying on the same diet 1500-2000 cals a day. I gained a few pounds and stayed there! The scales did not move at all. I just kept everything the same workouts, cals, everything.I am now happy to say I am back down to what was my current weight again. That is after almost a month of a few pound gain and stall while eating the same calorie deficit. I think its just our bodies taking notice to what we are doing. Then it gets back on track. Take note on how your body is looking. Even though i was not losing and even gained. I could tell after 2 weeks that I was most certainly losing body fat. I am curious though. Have you had any prior strength traingin before? Im my case I had not. WEll not anything that would have done much good or made any difference. I have looked for this answer a few times and got serveral answers that contradict the others. One thing I have come to my own conclusion is that our bodies and metabolisms are more hardy than some give them credit for
