I'd like to hear from any T2s using the online version of the South Beach Diet. Pros? Cons?
Answer:
I started using it today. This morning, my BG reading was 136 (fasting). That's pretty typical for a weekday; I tend to be higher on weekdays than weekends, perhaps because I'm getting up earlier. I usually spike after breakfast, because I usually have cereal. Two hours after breakfast, my BG was 105. Two hours after lunch, it was 98. I'm very excited to have gotten such a huge motivator on my first day; I have not gone below 100 since I've been diagnosed. I'm on the vegetarian version of the SBD. Today went by pretty quickly, considering I've been thinking all day about when can I eat next? I'm a little headachey, probably from carb withdrawal. I don't know when I'm going to start seeing weight loss, but I'm very encouraged by the BG readings.
