Question:
Has any body tried the South Beach Diet? We re-evaluated our low carb lifestyle and decided to try it. The information is pretty much the same, induction period for rapid weight loss and then adding carbs as necessary. They use the Glycemic index more for their guidelines but it seems togive a little more variety and perception on carbs and help me understand things a little better. After 5 years on LC we got in a slump and put some weight back on. This has helped with the weight loss. The diet was started by another Cardiologist, he believes in Atkins but as he said, the technology Atkins had was outdated and he introduced some new information. Is there any information about south beach diet ?

Answer:
I have not tried south beach, but got the book from the library. I've been doing SB without knowing it. It works. But anything does that makes you less hungry and reduces your calories. But SB still demands an induction period, which makes no sense to me. 1. Eat low glycemic foods. (Whole wheat breads, pastas, and brown rice) 2. Exercise 3. You will lose 1.5-2 lbs per week. 4. And you can have some wine or martinis
