What about miso soup in south beach diet?

Tagged As: south beach diet soup

Question:
I just recently started on the South Beach diet. I really like Indian and Japanese food, but I'm not sure how to adjust it to fit. Here's what I think I know: - Plain Nan is probably bad. But what if I eat it with something like Chicken Tikka Masala? (That's chicken roasted in the tandoori oven, in a cream and tomato sause... my favorite dish.) That ought to be better than having it over a plate of Basmati rice... but is this combo off-diet or on? How can I find out? (Because there's this really good Indian place in the food court and I'd like to eat there!) - Is sushi rice as bad as I think? It's a short grain white rice, but it's been mixed with a vinegar and sugar solution. Is the vinegar helping? Is it better to eat sushi (with the rice attached) or stick to Sashimi and try to avoid the rice? - What about miso soup? I'm not even sure what miso IS... is it just the same as broth? I'm sure the tofu, seaweed, and other veggies in it aren't a problem. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

Answer:
Miso soup is made from miso paste and hot water. Miso paste is made from soy beans. Not sure of the values, but I think it's okay.
