Question:
Could someone please tell me a good diet too lose weight but still retain the muscle....Also i was wondering if there is any way to gain muscle without increasing your bodyfat ? Thanks!
Answer:
There are no magic formulas - lift weights, reduce total calories by 500 per day, and expect to lose approximately 1 pound per week. You can hope to lose more fat than muscle but you're likely (almost certain) to lose some of both. If you want to gain muscle, you have to be prepared to gain some fat as well - eat 500 calories above maintenance instead of below, keep lifting, and hope to gain more muscle than fat. Most people cycle these two phases and try to end up with net gain in muscle and a net loss in fat. Google ketosis tkd and ketosis ckd and read about those diets - if they'll work for you, you stand a better chance that way of tipping the muscle/fat balance in your favor.
