My doctor briefly mentioned to me a NEW medicine for the treatment of IBS??? Has anyone heard of this? What is it called?
Answer:
I just started a new medication called Lotronex. My doctor prescribed it the very day it was available which was about 6 weeks ago. From what I read about it, it is more effective in women, but has also shown to work for men. I don’t know if this is what you are looking for, but you should ask your Dr. about it. It wouldn't hurt. I have been doing much better on this medication and there are very few side-effects, other than headache which meant away after a couple of weeks. The nurse at my Dr.'s office said that many of the patients that have started it have came to their follow-up visit with no symptoms of their crohn's disease.
