i was wondering why anyone would support or have a third trimester abortion

Answer:
Because there are circumstances where it is a necessary option. To ban it is to deny a life saving procedure to those who need it. A woman would want this for the same reasons she would want an abortion at any time. Besides, why would any pro-choicer oppose it? The entity is not born, not yet a human being or a child and, therefore, according to them does not deserve protections. Birth is the defining moment of human life for most/many of them (I wold point out that birth makes more sense than any other time, such as the trimester system, other than conception or implantation). The entity is using the woman's body as a parasite, according to them, and the woman has the right to kill it in order to prevent it from using her body without her will. ie to free herself from slavery (ask Craig or Ray). There are only two or three basic reasons why a third trimester abortion (premature delivery involving or very closely followed by the death of the foetus) would be allowed. Many people support the decision of a woman whose life is in serious danger, or she is in serious danger of the pregnancy leaving her permanently/seriously disabled to end the pregnancy before that happens should she choose to do so. Many people support the decision of a woman whose pregnancy concerns a foetus that is never going to be viable to end the pregnancy rather than hanging on for another month or so for a fruitless birth should she choose to do so. Many people support the decision of a woman where the foetus involoved in her pregnancy has already died to have the foetus removed rather than waiting for spontaneous delivery, should she choose to do so. Would you agree those are reasonable situations for abortion to be available for the woman *if she wants it*? Correct. On a matter of bodily integrity, the stage of development of a human being has no bearing on them using my body without my consent, or me stopping said use.
