Periods During Pregnancy ?

Tagged As: Pregnant Periods

Question:
I read somewhere that while your on your pregnant, you can still have periods, but they're irregular. My past three periods have fallen on the same exact day and have cause alot of pain. This past period was even stranger. The periods usually start on the 22nd. The 20th, I started to bleed very very very little. Then, on the 22nd, my period started. I've not had an appetite and have been very fatigued and weak. I don't know what's going on. Can any one help?

Answer:
You can still have periods during pregnancy, but this is unusual beyond the first month. I don't think they would be irregular unless you were normally irregular, although you can have bleeding during pregnancy which is unconnected with your period. It can be a sign of a miscarriage, but isn't always. I think the main sign is that the period is much weaker than normal. Although there have been people who have periods up til the 9th month, it is very unusual to have them beyond the third month. If you're really concerned that you're pregnant, then test, but it doesn't sound like you are. unless you have had a positive pregnancy test, it does not sound like you are pregnant. Periods can change for so many reasons, especially if you are young. Your iron may be low, you may be lacking nutrition, you might be associating with women who are on different cycles - so many things can cause changes. Check with your doctor to find the cause - but it doesn't sound like pregnancy to me. It's not usual to bleed during pregnancy. It's not completely uncommon, but not usual. And, bleeding during pregnancy is not having your period.
