Pregnancy Heartburn ?

Tagged As: Heartburn Pregnancy

Question:
Does anyone have a quick or surefire way to cure heartburn during pregnancy...PLEASE!!! I knew I shouldn't have but I ate lasagna and garlic bread for supper last night and now I'm paying the price :( I was up all night drinking glass after glass of milk which usually helps with my heartburn, but did nothing whatsoever for me today! I still have it and it's starting to drive me crazy :(

Answer:
My doctor told me I could safely take tums and Mylox (sp?) for heartburn during my pregnancy. I adore the stuff! Oh, I sympathize! Actually, these days I get it no matter what I eat. The only thing that's keeping it under control (wouldn't say *gone* though) is drinking Mylanta. Lots of it. My OB said if I really, really had to I could take Pepcid, but he's not keen on the idea. The tums or rolaids never seem to work for me, but I've taken the Maalox(i think that's what you were saying LOL) non-pregnant and it's worked great!! So i'm off now to get me some :) Who would've thought something that tastes SO good can be sooo bad :( I am heading out to the pharmacy to get some heartburn remedy right now!! I didn't know if you could take those during pregnancy so I'm quite relieved :) Tums/rolaids never do anything but leave a bad taste in my mouth!! I too seem to be getting some WICKED heartburn this time around. non-pregnant I usually do have some remorse after eating anything with tomatoes in it though so I should've known..but it smelled sooo good while it was cooking LOL Just to second what someone else said: Maalox...especially the quick disolve tablets! I have begun living on them now that I'm in the homestretch. They're a good source of calcium too! Buy a few bottles, one for your purse, one for home, one for the car...You never know when you're going to get those junk food cravings or heartburn from some seemingly innocent food. (*NO* food is innocent these days!lol!)
