Question:
I know that only a few weeks ago I was begging for morning sickness to make me feel really pregnant but, now I'd like to know if anyone has come across a natural remidy or perhaps miracle. I know It will go but with my ds it lasted 18-20 weeks and I don't think I can cope with that long. (I'm only 5 1/2 weeks). How to treatment of morning sickness?

Answer:
there's an East Indian woman who lives in the same apartment complex I do who is about 5 months pregnant, and until just about a month ago, she always carried around a quarter of a lime that she would lick ...apparently the lime juice helped to settle her stomach! I had some great advise for you. I don't. I was sooooo sick with my third child, I could keep hardly anything down and was losing weight. For some odd reason, however, Doritos didn't upset my stomach AND I had strong cravings for them. I had my checkup, at which point another weight loss was noted. The doctor just told me to eat anything that would stay down..and... his EXACT words were Eat anything that you find will stay down, even if it's Doritos. The goal here is just to gain some weight. I asked if he had spoken to my husband.. it was like he read my mind with the Dorito comment. I remember one night when I was determined that I would eat healthy food. I fixed a broccoli stir-fry ( a pre-pregnancy favorite). The minute that stuff hit my stomach it came right back up. The Doritos that I ate next stayed down perfectly. Go figure. Anyway... at about 5 months the nausea finally subsided and I began putting on weight (and quite a bit of it). My son was a healthy 9.5 pounds when he was born. I'm in the same boat you're in, except I'm a little over 5 months and STILL have morning sickness. My case is an extreme one, but I did get some helpful advice here a while ago. Lemon seemed to help sometimes. Taking it easy and getting enough rest is a big one too. Listen to what your tummy tells you Eat when your hungry and go with your gut instinct for what you want to eat. Make sure you are getting plenty of water as well. I know there are a lot of other things you can try out there as well. I'm on meds for my sickness cause it's so bad. So, none of the things I tried helped me for long. But it was worth the try to see if they would help. Ginger. It helps settle the stomach. Although I lived on Crakers and water when I was pregnant. I've heard this one too. Fortunately I didn't have a lot of morning sickness so I didn't have to test it out! I didn't get morning sickness during pregnancy, but I've been told that those travel wrist bands are quite good. On the packet that I've got they suggest using them for morning sickness, but they work very well for me when I go out fishing on the boats. I've had 6 kids. Had no cure for morning sickness for the 1st and 2nd baby, but I found my miracle cure for the last 4. But if you chew a small peice when you feel sick it cures it at that moment and won't cause any harm. I think what they mean by large doses is always drinking the tea when your thirsty, and eating it as often as possible. But if you just chew a small piece when feeling ill, it does help. And a little side note I don't believe that the ginger ale around my parts actually has any real ginger in it. I'd be more worried about the aspartime then the ginger. I don't have any food suggestions for you beyond this: make sure you eat *at least* every 3 hours. And don't wait until you've fed everyone else first. They won't die while you fix yourself something. I found that mixing myself a quick bowl of instant oatmeal worked wonders to avoid morning sickness. With my pregnancies I found different things worked for different ones. And the one that worked last time didn't work for the next. My first on soda crackers worked. With my next 2 I didn't really have much morning sickness unless I let tummy get empty. I ate more often and ate less at a sitting that helped. With my last one I lived on ice water with just a squeeze of lemon juice in it. It did wonders. I discovered with each that certain foods would cause my morning sickness. Greasy things and coffee ( just for my boys for some odd reason) Coffee made me so sick I spent the day in bathroom until I figured out the coffee was making me sick. So trial and error. And watch what you eat as well as what helps relieve that awful rotten feeling.
