Question:
I've always had problems with morning nausea. Eating some form of carbs would usually at least help this. Now, with starting low carbing soon, I can bet my morning nausea could be worse without the carbs. I don't know, maybe I'll get used to it. Can anyone relate and have any tips for combating this morning nausea?
Answer:
I too had this problem before starting to low carb. Note I said had, now I don't even get hungry until about 11am or 1pm each day. My first week of induction went rather well, only a little bit of heart burn, but that too went away. Each person being different I really can't tell you what will work for you. But for me during induction the only processed food I had was bacon. I kept all other foods to fresh or frozen meats and fresh not canned vegies. I have always had trouble with cheese so I still only allow myself about 2oz. per week. I used to have this problem. Lately I've been taking a supplement called Beekman's Prime One. It's got all kinds of herbs in it, plus some unrefined sugar. It's got 2 grams of carbs per daily dose. Anyway, I wake up, feed the cat, take a hit of the Prime One, and I don't get nauseous. Maybe it's those two grams, I don't know. Prime One is an adaptogenic tonic, so it's supposed to help balance out your system and help it respond to stress better. It also has prune juice in it, so it helps to keep me regular. Someone I know who takes it says she sleeps better since she started using it. Your milegae may vary...I think there's a web site somewhere for it, go to one of the search sites (Yahoo, Google, AltaVista, etc.) and try looking. I have it too... always have. I'm diabetic do I HAVE to eat early in the am. I usually eat 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or if it's a rally pukey day a protein shake. I just can't handle eggs or bacon or sausage until later in the morning.
