When did morning sickness begin?

Tagged As: Morning Sickness Begins

Question:
I'm 5 weeks pg and have a few simple questions. I know symptoms vary with each individual but I was hoping for a little more insight than the books give me. When will morning sickness begin and end? Will my breasts hurt the WHOLE nine months? Does being tired (I'm up to 2 naps a day when possible) end soon? This is my first pg. I know I should be reading books etc but What to Expect talks about medical conditions I either don't have or don't care to think about. Just a little insight from someone who is a little further along or has a really good memory of what it's like would be very much appreciated.

Answer:
Some people never get morning sickness at all. Let's hope you're one of them! :) I had morning sickness (all day, really) for the first three months and the last three months of my pregnancy. Not much of a break in between. I'm now pregnant with number two, and have no morning sickness at all.. of course I'm only 3 weeks along! I remember with my first it started at about 4-6 weeks. The breast tenderness was never very bad with the first and eased up by the end of the first trimester, this time it is HORRIBLE, and was my first sign before I missed my period. And, while you may be totally different, I would have been happy to sleep for my ENTIRE first pregnancy. My best friend and I were pg at the same time, and her hubby would drop her off to visit with me and return to find us BOTH asleep on the couch(es). Congratulations on getting pregnant! I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow and my morning sickness started just past the 6 week mark. After a few days of feeling queasy, I started throwing up and it's been that way ever since. In fact it's been even worse for the last week so I have no idea when it will end. I have heard many women on the July list say that the nausea has started to subside so I may be at one extreme. The tenderness in my breasts lessened a lot about a week ago so they are feeling much better. My morning sickness usually starts around 6 weeks. Breasts are sore for the first 3 months. In your second trimester you start being a little less tired and gain some energy usually I was the same way and thought I had escaped morning sickness when it hadn't started by 5 weeks. Well, it started at 6-6.5 weeks and lasted past 14!!
