Question:
I'm ready to hear any Morning Sickness cures any of you may have tried. I think I may have tried them all at this point! But I'm so miserable that I'm grasping for any advice.
Answer:
Another place to look for this help would be misc.kids.pregnancy - tons of useful info! Sorry about the morning sickness, I'm at 12 weeks and hardly had any - very mild nausea (knock on wood). I heard that if you have something to eat, even if its only a piece of toast before you actually get out of bed, the morning sickness wont be as bad!! Lemons with salt?? Is that something you crave?? Well, I have a strange habit of eating tortilla chips with melted chocolate. I know it sounds gross, but it's the sweet/salty thing. Kinda like chocolate covered pretzels. Yeah, the only thing I really know of is eating crackers. I'm sure that probably won't do it for you though. My aunt had morning sickness 24/7 for about 9 months! This is just an idea- not proven or anything. But when I made some ginger essential oil and was asking around about uses for the (yummy) hydrosol, a couple of people mentioned the use of this for nausea and appetite stimlation in relation to the side effects of chemotherapy. I don't know if it would help with morning sickness, but you might ask around, or try a couple of gingersnaps along with or in place of the crackers. Other people may have already had good results with ginger ale. I can't remember if I heard that or not. As a 2 time mommy. I never had morning sickness. Howeverr if I ever feel nausea coming on I chew mint leaves. I grow Hilary Spearmint. My daughter has been chewing them since she has had teeth. she is 5 now. she loves it and it really helps. peppermint or pinapple mint would be good also. I'd stay away from wintergreen(heard bad things about it ) but you may find the smell good enuff if you bruise the leaves to stop the icky sicky feeling . I also like the smell of rosemary. Ginger is supposed to be excellent for nausea. Maybe get some organic ginger cordial and mix with carbonated spring water. I used to find fizzy drinks helped. In the end though had to take prescribed anti-nausea pills (think they were some sort of anti-histamine - seen them sold for travel sickness) as I couldn't keep anything down & it was getting quite serious.
