Question:
Wanted to take an informal poll and find out when women's morning sickness ended? In a few books I have read (including WTEWYE) it seems that around 12-14 weeks is the usual end. I've also heard a lot of people say that one day they were sick--and the next day they were 100% better. I'm at 15 1/2 weeks and still queasy from 3p.m. until bedtime. It's definitely better than it was at 8 and 9 weeks, but I'm sort of disappointed, as I thought I'd be all rosy and glowy and perky by now. At the advice of my dr. I take 1/2 a unisom tablet when I start to feel sick, and this makes the afternoons and evening bearable--but I hope to be able to say I'm 100% better soon. And one more question for September moms-to-be: are you wearing maternity clothes yet? Have people noticed you're pregnant?
Answer:
My DD was born on October 15th. I had morning sickness (okay, all day sickness) from a couple of days post conception until early August. Then I felt great until mid September, when the morning sickness (that lasted all day) returned. Ugh...just the thought of it makes me feel sick again. The funny thing was that I gagged a lot but rarely vomited anything but bile. I don't want to scare you....but I got pregnant on October 21st and my morning sickness began on Halloween. It came on with a vengance 24/7, never let up and continued until I delivered my daughter on July 25th, 2 weeks overdue. I never got that happy glow or enjoyed one single day of my pregnancy. I only gained 9 lbs and my daughter weighed 8 lbs and 3 oz. Hopefully yours will end soon!! I suffered from all day sickness (literally throwing up 3-15 times a day) from about 10-15 days post conception until the day after I delivered. My doctor claimed that I had some sort of rare allergic reaction to the extra hormones I was producing, but I really don't know much about that. with my first child it never went away, I was sick until the day I delivered. With this pregnancy (Due Sept 20) I have days where I feel nauseous, but it is much more managable. It is no where near as bad as it was in February, I was getting sick between 5 - 8 times a day then. And I dug out my mat clothes yesterday felt mildy queasy from conception to about 7 weeks, then the all day sickness kicked in. It slowly started getting better around 12 weeks, but really didn't leave until more like 17 or 18 weeks. Personally I'm wondering what's up with the glow as well.
