Tired of morning sickness.... help...

Tagged As: Morning Sickness Help

Question:
I'm 7 weeks pregnant and deep into morning sickness territory. I am miserable!! I didn't have any with my first (well, not true.. the prenatals made me sick as hell and my Dr. ultimately ended up taking me off them... after that I didn't have any morning sickness..). Anyway - this time around I am non-stop queasy. 24/7.... I wasn't throwing up.. but now for two nights in a row I have been waking up multiple times in the middle of the night and wanting to vomit. Last night (about 3am) I actually did. I've been drinking tons of ice water (helps a little), munching on lots of carbs... and am even wearing motion sickness bands on my wrists (definitely helping a little too). Does anyone have any other recommendations? I'm not sick enough to even consider anti-nausea medicine... I think I would have to be on my death-bed for that (wink)... I'm also popping antacids a couple of times a day... those help a little too.

Answer:
wonder if that means yogurt would help. I adore yogurt but haven't had any for a while.. don't know why.. just haven't felt like eating it. Maybe I'll try that too and see if it helps. Wow.. I can definitely see this!! I have been completely wiped out lately. I'm taking a 2 hour nap every day... and STILL sleeping a full 9 or 10 hours every night.... Because they made me so sick during my first pregnancy.. I'm reluctant to try them at all during this one. I go for my first Dr. appt. on Friday, and I know she will give me tons of samples of prenatals... so maybe I'll test the waters a bit and see if they help. The pregnancy is starting off considerably different than my last... I just hope that I get the same sweet calm loving baby that I got last time!! LOL Everyone tells me that I should have stopped at one.. because she is SUCH an angel... they all tell me that #2 will be a beast... I found little tins of fruit (sometimes come in plastic pots) really helped. Don't let yourself get hungry or eat anything too fast. Keep a close eye on what you eat and how it effects your sickness. Maybe even write it down for a while. I found that even though I had it with No 1 it was much easier this time becasue I knew what to avoid. I found that potatoes went down well (and stayed down). Also, try fresh citrus, lemon drops, crystalized ginger. I also ate a lot of crushed ice with lemonade. At the suggestion of my ob's nurse, I increased my protein intake, particularly at bedtime (yogurt, cheese, Balance bars, etc). And have fast energy snacks around, such as fruit leather or Balance bars.
