Question:
For Nausea...helps prevent motion sickness, morning sickness, nausea and upset stomach. The instructions say for morning sickness, take one softgel when you awake. Repeat every four hours as necessary. The ingredients contain, freeze dried ginger, oleo-resin ginger (ginger lipids), ginger extract, ajowan oil, vitimin B-6, calcium carbonate, peppermint oil, spearmint oil, fennel oil, lemon peel extract. Question: Has anyone on this list used this product or one similar? Does anyone know if these ingredients are ok to use during pregnancy? (I imagine they are, but you never know) I will do anything to relieve the nausea, and if this can help, I will take it faithfully.
Answer:
As usual, nothing in excess. But I used to brew fresh ginger as a kind of tea, and peppermint as well, and loved lemons during my nauseous phase, so there are 3 ingredients right there which I found effective. I haven't used that product, however, both ginger and lemon have been used to treat nausea and morning sickness for decades. While I haven't had the pleasure of having had morning sickness, when I have had nausea I make a tea from half a teaspoon of grated ginger and a good squeeze of lemon into a very warm mug of water, and this helps heaps. In Australia, Twinings make Lemon and Ginger teabags, which are also good for work and when you are out.
