Nausea in third trimester ?

Tagged As: Nausea In Third Trimester

Question:
The past week or so I've been experiencing mild nausea. How odd a symptom is this to have in the third trimester? I have not actually tossed my cookies but I did heave a little today. I don't have any other unusual symptoms - no persistent headache, dizziness, swelling, etc. Just the slight nausea. Actually, its similar to how I felt during the first trimester except milder. I never threw up during the first trimester either but had lots and lots of dry heaves. I would actually try to throw up sometimes but couldn't (sometimes not throwing up is worse than actually doing it). So has anyone experienced this? BTW, I'm almost 32 weeks (time is moving pretty slow in my part of the world :( - but that's a completely different subject). Oh, I have a doctor's appt Wednesday and plan to mention it then.

Answer:
I was nauseated my whole pregnancy, especially my first and third trimesters. Most of my friends had morning sickness only in the first few weeks of the pregnancy, but for a couple, it did return in the last trimester.....although not as severe. It's normal.....annoying, but not a health-concern. I'm 33 weeks (I know what you mean by time moving slow) and I'm experiencing the exact same thing except I'm not heaving. Nothing seems to help. tell me what your doctor says when you see her. I don't see mine for another week and don't want to wait I am 33 weeks and have been experiencing mild nausea and dizzyness for the last few weeks, which I wasn't expecting at all. I have dry heaves while eating (anything that tastes a little funny or whose texture I don't quite like will provoke them) and sometimes even puke. I have actually lost all interest in food again, although it doesn't gross me out like during the first trimester. :-) Here I thought I was alone in this nauseous state, but it's nice to see I'm not. I asked my doctor at the 30-week checkup, and he told me that since the baby was pushing up on my stomach that nausea and heartburn are completely normal. He said to eat small frequent bland meals rather than the normal 3 big ones and that other than that, nothing would really help, just to wait until the pregnancy was over. So far, it seem to be helping slightly. Maybe it will work better for you. You mentioned something else I forgot about - lack of interest in food. I really was starting to worry that I was going to starve the baby as I have not been nearly as hungry as usual. I eat and I think I eat pretty well, at least I try to, but I just don't have much of an appetite. It has happened gradually over the last couple weeks. I always thought you were supposed to be perpetually hungry during the third trimester. At least now I know I'm not alone :). I'm going to question my doctor about this tomorrow as well.
