no morning sickness?

Tagged As: No Morning Sickness

Question:
I will be 5 weeks this Saturday and have no signs of morning sickness. I had terrible morning sickness with my first child. I am awfully tired and have dizzy spells several times a day but no morning sickness. Is this normal?

Answer:
Everything is normal in pregnancy since each pregnancy is different. Give yourself another couple of weeks, and you might be praying to the porcelain god, but then- you might not. Tired and dizzy are just as good of symptoms as morning sickness when it comes to worrying that you are imagining the whole thing. ;-) Take care! Relish in your non-nauseated state! Oh- also, I have heard morning sickness in subsequent pregnancies is pretty common as well (although again YMMV). From what I've read, yeah this is just another normal variant. Enjoy it, you never know when the sickness may strike! I didn't have morning sickness right away either. Just wait. Lol. For me it hit at about 6 weeks or so with each pregnancy. At 6 weeks 4 days I was wondering exactly the same as you, when it would hit, whether it would hit, etc etc. I actually wanted to feel sick so that I could feel pregnant. LOL. Two days later there it was - no mistaking! Apparently, about 80% of women experience nausea. And for a lot of those that do it doesn't hit until 6-7 weeks. Enjoy the well feeling while you can and try not to worry. I didn't get any morning sickness until almost 8 weeks...then I had it straight through til the 6th month... My mother never had any morning sickness with any of us... This encourages me a bit.. I'm at 5 months and figured, if it hadn't stopped by now, there's probably no reason it should. But I'll keep hoping. ;-) I also started at 8 weeks, btw. Maybe a little queasiness before, but not full-blown.
