Early Pregnant/not Pregnant Signs ?

Tagged As: Early Signs Of Pregnancy

Question:
Every month I have a clear discharge during the time I ovulated as you are supposed to. Then for about a week I have no discharge at all. At about one week to 5 days before my period starts I again have a dischare (not as clear - more white). Is this a sign that you are NOT pregnant?

Answer:
I have heard about a discharge JUST before your period - as your period is starting, the first thing to come out is some liquid in? lining? your uterus followed a day or two later by your period. I have this, it is sort of depressing. But a week seems a little early for this. I always have mucus about a week before my period starts. I had that same mucus this cycle (though who knows how IVF affected it). The only thing that was different this cycle than all the others was that I was very calm about my certainty that I was not pregnant. I have heard others mention this calm on the cycles where they got pregnant. Every month I have a clear discharge during the time I ovulated as you are supposed to. Then for about a week I have no discharge at all. At about one week to 5 days before my period starts I again have a dischare (not as clear - more white). Is this a sign that you are NOT pregnant? I have been pregnant once (m/c) and I don't remember if I had this. I remember that I had cramps but I can't remember about the discharge. Any information or experiences would be appreciate. I always get so depressed when it starts because it has always been followed by my period. Pick up Taking Charge of Your Fertility. In it she really distills all the courses cervical mucus take. The lotiony kind you're describing is caused by the production of progestrone in the last part of your cycle. It doesn't indicated pregnancy or no pregnancy. It's just natural. Question: You were pregnant and had cramps anyway? Did the cramps coincide with the miscarriage or were there just cramps? I am *almost* certain that I can tell whether or not I'm pregnant around 5 to 6 days before my period is due. I find that I get a whitish discharge ( paste-y) around 3-4 days after ovulation. At around day 9 after ovulation or so, this changes to a much more lotion-y type discharge --that's when I know I'm not pregnant. And again it changes just before I get my period to a watery ( sometimes with stretchy mucus) discharge--but by then I already know it's over for this cycle. Even on the cycles when I've done IVF my pattern is always the same and it's hardly even worth getting the pregnancy test :( This change in texture also coincides with a slight lowering of the bbt which further reaffirms my conclusion. When I was pregnant in my early twenties, I know one of the first things I noticed was a lot of thick white discharge ( and believe me then I wasn't noticing much of anything to do with my cycles) so it had to be pretty obvious. From the variations on the post though I just wonder if everyone isn't different in how their body responds to the increasing and decreasing progesterone levels. I had the same discharge when I was pregnant - lots of it. Never have had it again.
