Tagged As: Pregnancy Test Results
Hi. There's a slim possibility I might be pregnant, so I took a home pregnancy test (First Response) on what should have been the first or second day of period (which still hasn't started a day later). Anyway, the test results said negative, so I figured that was the end of that. I looked at the test this morning (16 hours later), and the negative line is still clear and strong. However, I had read the FAQ section of the instructions, which had the following to say: "Q: Will the result change if left standing for a certain period of time? "A: The test result should be read as soon as possible after waiting the 3 minutes. A positive result will last for at least 48 hours. A negative result should not be read after 10 minutes." I am confused by the last sentence. Does this mean the negative result will disappear after a time? If so, what does it mean that the negative line did not disappear? Has anyone else had this happen? How should I interpret these results? Thank you.
